No Visible Eclipse of the Sun
Aug. 21st, 2017 12:03 pmThe eclipse was a bust here in San Rafael. It's a gray, foggy day in the first place, no sun visible, but it never got "dark as night" or even twilight. There was a short time where it seemed grayer but since I couldn't see the sun or the moon, nothing impressive. Ah, well.
I did witness something funny earlier. Demelza takes a shuttle to go to her special needs day program (independent life skills and volunteer jobs) so we went out to wait for it. Demelza noted that there were no cars parked on our side of the street. "It's street cleaning day," I said.
Sure enough, a short while later, here comes the street cleaner machine chugging along, its bristly brush whirring over the gutters. Two cars immediately pulled into the two driveways to our building and the machine developed a small tail of cars creeping behind. The moment the machine went by us, all four cars zoomed into the vacant parking spaces, including a fifth who swung in from the other side of the street. They are far more on the ball than I ever was when I used to park on the street in the '80s!
I currently have two hundred stories posted on Archive of Our Own in over ten fandoms. WOW! And one story in the Inspector Lewis fandom has 79 kudos which is far more than any Starsky and Hutch or Pros story has! I think I have approximately six stories not posted on AO3--two new ones, three from Invisible Man on another site and one--make that two--Starsky and Hutch on other sites.
