I've been listening to an 80s station lately, and while I don't actually recall the song in the subject line from back then, it's fun and runs through my head all the time.

Particularly the other day when I was in the bathroom, doing what one needs to do and I felt this presence...my daughter has a Star Wars towel, which was hanging on the rod to my right. Rey's dark eyes were staring directly at me, intently, menacingly. I had to fold the towel and then had Finn watching me. He didn't seem quite as intent, though. lol.

Happys--let's see. Nice, busy night last night at work. Not so busy that I felt like I was drowning, and I had the help of the relief nurse, which was a relief. I hung five sets of IV tubing, and had two more to go when she can along and volunteered. Yay! I was able to take a short break and feed a baby while she did that.

After worrying that the purse I'd bought was lost in transit, it arrived on the day I emailed the company to ask where it was. YAY! It's bigger than I imagined and doesn't have enough pockets, but I love the picture on the front. Since I seem unable to post photos anymore--it's a Disney version of a painting of a number of beautiful women in lovely dresses lounging in a forest, except all are the Disney princesses, Tiana in a green off the shoulder gown in the forefront.

Now enjoying Endeavour. I broke down and bought season one. Am just about finished with the last ep, and then got season two from the library. Morse does have sweet, huge eyes, and always seems slightly befuddled, even when he's the one who has cracked the case. I also like Inspector Thursday, a kind, older detective.

Oh--and I have vacation next week! I know, only worked one month, and on vacation, you say? The hospital requires us to schedule our vacations for the whole year in advance, so this has been on the books since before my med leave. Both my middle sister and mom have birthdays next week and my younger sister is flying in to visit us all.

Peace out.

I like when others post things that make them grateful, happy or just glad to be alive. Because I certainly am glad to be around, back at work (or having an unexpected day off, like today) and eating chocolate. So here are three of my happys today.

I worked with a lovely new nursing student all weekend--and funnily, since I am generally the first person the manager goes to with the preceptor students (who work with us for two to three months), it turned out, I was the third in line. The first nurse M was with the Sunday before was off this weekend, and the second nurse M was supposed to shadow had a VERY complicated assignment which was not at all appropriate for a brand new student. So I inherited her, and we got along fantastic. She's smart, funny, and used to be a professional ballet dancer. Cool, since I was once a very amateur dancer in college theatre. I was a bit in awe of her, and she in me for having worked in the ICN for 29 years. LOL. She asked if I'd be back on Wednesday, which I am, but I'm not sure the protocol usurping the original nurse's position. I know the other nurse well, and have no problem being her second when needed.

A story I posted on AO3 in the Lewis fandom has 83 kudos! That is by far the most kudos I have ever had on any story, any fandom, including Starsky and Hutch where I have over 120 posted fic!

I have watched three episodes of The Orville, and like it very much. I am not a big Trekker--I mean I like Trek and all its versions well enough, but particularly never liked Kirk. (Love Picard and many other characters.) I genuinely like all the characters on Orville--they seem nice, happy to be on a ship, and enjoying working together. Even Ed and his ex-wife Kelly who socialize and chat quite a lot for a divorced couple. Also love the two helmsmen (can't recall their names--the redhead is Gordon?) and the cute first officer Alana. The episode the other day where the big guy from the all male planet and his partner had their female baby's sex reoriented to male was really thought provoking and sad.

Not actually a happy but--The water is turned off today in my building today (as it has been on and off for several weeks due to ongoing plumbing retrofitting) so I can't wash the dishes, laundry or floor. Oh, well.
